To much awesome things.

GBCs

Hey guys,
If you like looking at Lego mechanisms and contraptions GBCs are the thing for you!!!!!!!
I will be posting many many GBCs.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not exactly NXT Driven...............

It cool anyway....

Xbox NXT

This is a hacker-person that managed to get the NXT connected with the Kinect sensor that goes with your Xbox and used it to control the Tri-bot.

Great ball Contraption

This is a GBC.
People from different cities or country and they combined them together to make a big contraption. The parts have an entrance and a exit. With a bit of tweaking it works pretty well.
It has 93 parts(apparently a world record). Most of the parts are made with power functions and older train sets to move the balls around. I did see a few NXTs in the mix. It's quite a long video but a great video if you like to see different kinds of mechanisms.

LDD

Many of you would like a Mindstorms or be able to make your own set.
You can now make that possible using LDD(Lego Digital Designer)
It is a software made by LEGO and you can use it to design your own creations.
There are many features like: Able to generate building instructions almost instantly, a large selections of pieces,
the hide, delete, clone, color detection, multiple selection tool and one of my favorite ones viewing mode and explode model.:)

Tufts Engineering Education and Outreach

Some people may be interested in this:

The Tufts Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO) invites you to the 5th annual LEGO Engineering Symposium May 24-26, 2011 at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, USA.
The LEGO Engineering Symposium aims to bring together educators and other stakeholders that want to explore using LEGO MINDSTORMS to teach STEM concepts. This year's symposium's theme is Pushing the Envelope of STEM Learning.

Speakers will include researchers in science & engineering education, leading K-12 teachers, maverick Mindstorms users, and other folks pushing the boundaries of technologies for supporting STEM education.
We will be offering six development labs this year:
I. Seeing the Science/Engineering in Children's Thinking.
II. Integrating Engineering & Literacy.
III. SAM (Stop Action Movie Making) - Tools for Children to Create Representations of their Ideas.
IV. Labview Education Edition - The Next Generation of Programming.
V. Supporting the Development of Engineering Design Skills in K-12.
VI. Physics Glasses: Augmented Reality and Other Fun Things with Image Analysis
Development labs are an opportunity for participants to learn, discuss, and develop ideas. They are different than traditional workshops in that participants spend time discussing and developing ideas that can inform classroom practice as well as product development. This year we are asking participants to pre-select the development labs they wish to participate in so that we can better plan materials and resources. All development labs will share an overview of their activities and findings on the final day of the conference.
Registration is now Open! Space is limited to 100 participants - so register early.
Visit
for more information and registration.
We hope to see you there!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

This is a tad late but anyway,
HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY IRISH PEOPLE!!!!:D:D
This is a robot trap to trap leprechauns (pronounced lepre-corn) and capture their pot of gold!

So, what is a leprechaun? It is a type of fairy about the height of a small child, dressed in a green coat and and pointy shoes, has a beard (if it is a male) and a hat. They make shoes all the time, have hidden pots of gold at the end of the rainbow, and will have to grant you three wishes if you catch one, in order to be free again.

A leprechaun is always trying to trick you, so when you catch one, you must keep having eye contact with him, or else he will disappear!
So here is a link to a video that catches one!

HiTechnic

Hey there people with HiTechnic sensors,
Get stuck on anything to build? well, at http://www.hitechnic.com/models there are models of some things you could build with the Gyro sensor, IRReceiver Sensor, Acceleration sensor, Lego IR remote control and the 1.0 kit or 2.0

Play Well, Build Well

Fully armed battle tank

This is a full armed battle tank controlled by a PSP controller using Mindsensor's PSP NX
It has a lot of functions. able to go up and down and moves around(that rhymes! ;)
The video explains most of it.
Supercool!!!!!!!!!!!:D

NXT AIR BLIMP

This is a video of the c5 flying blimp that was made for Legoworld. It also has a camera mounted on it so it took a video of things flying above.
Flying NXT that's really COOL!

And here is their website

It is remote controlled.

Anti-Wire Motors

I found that in the 3.0 something should open up a whole lot more of Robot Building possibilities. The motors are both wireless and the cable is for the ultrasonic sensor. It was a long one so it had to be wrapped around the frame of the car. I don't know if sensors could go wireless too.
It would be really cool if sensor went wireless. Then there would be no worry for the rage of the wire!!!!!!:):D

Walking Biped

Here is a walking biped robot that is very good at moving around on two legs.
It as a very natural and fluid feel to it.
At the beginning it is just random moves but near the end there will be a bit a walking and stuff.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbxmljINyDw&feature=player_embedded

Voice control NXT

"With 'NXT Speech Control' you are able to control your NXT robot over voice commands. With this app you just have to fill in your commands e.g. 'hurry up', 'go away', 'hide' to the prepared nxt-commands (forward, backward, left, right) and then choose the speed and distance."
Pretty cool eh? It's made for Andriod. It's called NXT Speech Control.

Blast OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lego space has blaster off today!!!!!!

Building Instructions

Great ones in the nxtprograms.com and at http://mindstorms.lego.com/en-us/support/buildinginstructions/8547/Bonus%20Model%201.aspx
For those of you that have HiTechnic sensor there are a few models to build at http://www.hitechnic.com/models
And look at www.nxtprograms.com for stuff for NXT 1.0 and 2.0
Another site but with a little more complicated stuff, http://mynxt.matthiaspaulscholz.eu/index.html might need
some extra pieces
Also another random site: http://robotics.bendettelli.com
